Sharks and trains

These are a few photos from last friday just a few hours after a fatal great white shark attack just up the beach from this spot. You can see the beach was all but deserted and not a surfer in the water. Went down to this spot with Pat Duffy, it used to be a bit of a forgotten spot but now it seems to be circulating again. It’s called Dead Man’s ditch, years ago they found a dead guy in the ditch hit by the train which passes less than three feet from the lip. Your not safe in the water or the land it seems.

Digging through boxes

I have been shooting photos a long time now, over 16 years to be exact. When I started we used this stuff some of you may remember called “film” from which we either got negatives or slides back which would then have to be filed away somewhere. Over the years I have amassed quite a collection of boxes of slides/negs and unlike the convenient digital files of today the only way to find something is to dig. When I go looking for something I tend to find other images that I wasn’t looking for but catch my eye and I get them scanned. Every now and then I will throw some of them up here, no particular theme just a bunch of photos.

Hosoi at the Pink Motel - late 90’s

Sal Barbier - Plan B US tour, 1995

Keenan Milton at the World Industries park, 1993/4?

Arto Saari - Hospital in Helsinki, Finland for heart surgery

Ed Templeton, Rick McCrank and myself were in Finland traveling around with Arto, visiting his spots and family. On the day before we were to leave he went into the hospital for a scheduled heart surgery. We snuck into the hospital after hours to visit him before we left.

A strange one

A “remixed” cover for MadKids magazine. They took the photo and tweaked the wheels, Tony’s head, made him upside down, etc. We’ll add this one to the random pile.

Mega reunion

Seems pretty heavy on the Mega Ramp photos this past week or two but this one is worth posting. Jacob Rosenberg is working with Danny Way on a new project (Jake was responsible for the first three Plan B Videos) and decided to invite Rodney Mullen to come down. So here we have Danny, Jake and Rodney together for the first time in about 14 years.
